Hikoya: The School Comedy

Unit so'zlari matnda ajratib ko'rsatilgan. Gapni bossangiz, hikoya shu gapdan o'qiladi.

The club decides to perform a comedy at the city theater festival. The preparation is long, because Mr. Brown has a clear philosophy: "A funny play needs serious work." The ultimate goal is the first prize. Sam gets the main role of a clumsy king, but Anvar receives only a minor part, and he feels a little sad. "Even a minor role can steal the show," says Mr. Brown.

Constant rehearsals follow. The script specifies that the king must fall off his chair at the end of the first scene, so Aziz places soft pillows on the floor. Dilya tells Sam to speak clearly, because the audience in the back row cannot hear. Sam tries to convey the king's surprise with his eyes, but he forgets his words. Thankfully, Dilya sits behind the curtain, glances at her script and whispers the line.

On the festival day, Sam falls off the chair a little too hard and hurts his hand. The school nurse gives first aid, and the show goes on. The audience laughs at every joke, and Anvar's tiny role becomes the funniest of all. One judge says that the play understands its context, because every joke comes from real school life. After the show, Mr. Brown says that Anvar put his whole soul into the part. "A good comedy can foster friendship," he adds.

O'zbekcha tarjimasi

Klub shahar teatr festivalida komediya ijro etishga qaror qiladi. Tayyorgarlik uzoq davom etadi, chunki Mr. Brownning aniq falsafasi bor: «Kulgili spektakl jiddiy mehnat talab qiladi». Yakuniy maqsad — birinchi o'rin. Sem epsiz shoh rolini oladi, Anvarga esa faqat ikkinchi darajali rol tegadi va u ozgina xafa bo'ladi. «Hatto kichik rol ham butun tomoshani o'ziga tortib olishi mumkin», deydi Mr. Brown.

Doimiy repetitsiyalar boshlanadi. Ssenariyda birinchi sahna oxirida shoh stulidan yiqilishi aniq ko'rsatilgan, shuning uchun Aziz polga yumshoq yostiqlar qo'yadi. Dilya Semga aniq gapirishni aytadi, chunki orqa qatordagi tomoshabinlar eshita olmaydi. Sem shohning hayratini ko'zlari bilan yetkazmoqchi bo'ladi, lekin so'zlarini unutadi. Shukurki, Dilya parda ortida o'tiradi, ssenariyga bir qarab oladi va satrni pichirlaydi.

Festival kuni Sem stuldan biroz qattiqroq yiqilib, qo'lini og'ritib oladi. Maktab hamshirasi birinchi yordam ko'rsatadi va tomosha davom etadi. Tomoshabinlar har bir hazilga kuladi, Anvarning kichkina roli esa hammasidan kulgili bo'lib chiqadi. Hakamlardan biri spektakl o'z muhitini yaxshi tushunishini aytadi, chunki har bir hazil haqiqiy maktab hayotidan olingan. Tomoshadan keyin Mr. Brown Anvar rolga butun joni-dilini berganini aytadi. «Yaxshi komediya do'stlikni mustahkamlashi mumkin», deb qo'shimcha qiladi u.
