Hikoya: The Museum Mystery

Unit so'zlari matnda ajratib ko'rsatilgan. Gapni bossangiz, hikoya shu gapdan o'qiladi.

On a rainy Thursday, the club visits the city museum. The rain falls steadily on the glass roof. A guide, Ms. Gulnora, takes them to the hall of old vessels. She shows two identical clay vessels: one is five hundred years old, and the other is a modern copy. "Can you find the flaw in the old one?" she asks. Dilya sees a tiny crack at the bottom.

Suddenly the guide cries out: the small silver vessel is missing from the glass case! The guards tighten security and close the doors. The noise of the crowd begins to disrupt the tour, and Mr. Brown asks everybody to cease talking. It is apparent that nobody opened the case, because the lock is still closed. Sam jokes that he is the only suspect, because he stands nearest. Accordingly, a guard watches him closely.

Anvar, who has a fever but came anyway, notices a small card on the floor: the vessel went to the workshop for cleaning. The guide laughs with relief. In the workshop, a university student shows her thesis about restoring old silver. The vessel once belonged to a priest, and later it came back to the country through an embassy. Under the new light, its vivid patterns shine again. "Our little mystery has a happy end," says Mr. Brown.

O'zbekcha tarjimasi

Yomg'irli payshanba kuni klub shahar muzeyiga boradi. Yomg'ir shisha tom ustiga bir maromda yog'adi. Gid Ms. Gulnora ularni eski idishlar zaliga olib boradi. U ikkita bir xil sopol idishni ko'rsatadi: biri besh yuz yillik, ikkinchisi zamonaviy nusxa. «Eskisidagi nuqsonni topa olasizmi?» deb so'raydi u. Dilya pastki qismida kichik darzni ko'radi.

To'satdan gid qichqirib yuboradi: shisha vitrinadan kichik kumush idish yo'qolgan! Qo'riqchilar xavfsizlikni kuchaytiradi va eshiklarni yopadi. Olomon shovqini ekskursiyani izdan chiqara boshlaydi, Mr. Brown esa hammadan gapirishni to'xtatishni so'raydi. Vitrinani hech kim ochmagani ayon, chunki qulf hali yopiq. Sem hazillashib, eng yaqin turgani uchun yagona gumonlanuvchi o'zi ekanini aytadi. Shunga muvofiq, qo'riqchi unga yaqindan qarab turadi.

Isitmasi bor, lekin baribir kelgan Anvar yerda kichik kartochkani payqaydi: idish tozalash uchun ustaxonaga olib ketilgan. Gid yengil tortib kuladi. Ustaxonada universitet talabasi eski kumushni tiklash haqidagi dissertatsiyasini ko'rsatadi. Idish bir paytlar ruhoniyga tegishli bo'lgan, keyinroq esa elchixona orqali yurtga qaytgan. Yangi yorug'likda uning yorqin naqshlari yana yarqiraydi. «Kichik sirimiz xushbaxt yakun topdi», deydi Mr. Brown.
