Hikoya: A Storm Night at School

Unit so'zlari matnda ajratib ko'rsatilgan. Gapni bossangiz, hikoya shu gapdan o'qiladi.

The club stays at school for a reading night, and Mr. Brown brings sleeping bags for everybody. Outside, lightning lights the sky. Suddenly there is a power breakdown, and the whole building becomes dark. A short dispute starts, because Sam and Anvar both say they know where the flashlight is. Dilya frowns and finds it in her own bag.

Aziz walks along the corridor with a sophisticated lamp from the physics lab, and its light is perfectly strong. Anvar is shocked when he sees his own reflection in the dark window, and he jumps. Sam, who is restless, wants to rehearse a scary story for the next day. "Do not violate the rule of the night," says Mr. Brown. "Nobody leaves the library alone. I condemn any joke that can frighten smaller children."

Later, Mr. Brown lights an authentic old oil lamp from the school museum. There is a surplus of candles and sweets in the box, so everybody gets enough. The storm passes, and the lights return at midnight. "Maybe the best nights are the dark ones," says Dilya, and her friends agree.

O'zbekcha tarjimasi

Klub o'qish kechasi uchun maktabda qoladi va Mr. Brown hamma uchun uyqu xaltalarini olib keladi. Tashqarida chaqmoq osmonni yoritadi. To'satdan elektr o'chadi va butun bino qorong'i bo'lib qoladi. Qisqa tortishuv boshlanadi, chunki Sem ham, Anvar ham chiroq qayerda ekanini bilishini aytadi. Dilya qovog'ini solib, uni o'z sumkasidan topadi.

Aziz fizika xonasidagi murakkab chiroq bilan koridor bo'ylab yuradi, uning yorug'ligi juda yaxshi. Anvar qorong'i derazada o'z aksini ko'rib larzaga tushadi va sakrab ketadi. Notinch Sem ertasi kun uchun qo'rqinchli hikoyani mashq qilmoqchi bo'ladi. «Kechaning qoidasini buzmang», deydi Mr. Brown. «Hech kim kutubxonadan yolg'iz chiqmaydi. Kichik bolalarni qo'rqitishi mumkin bo'lgan har qanday hazilni qoralayman».

Keyinroq Mr. Brown maktab muzeyidan chinakam eski moy chirog'ini yoqadi. Qutida sham va shirinliklar ortiqcha, shuning uchun hammaga yetadi. Bo'ron o'tadi va yarim kechada chiroqlar qaytadi. «Balki eng yaxshi kechalar qorong'i bo'lganlaridir», deydi Dilya, do'stlari ham rozi bo'ladi.
