Hikoya: The Veteran's Visit

Unit so'zlari matnda ajratib ko'rsatilgan. Gapni bossangiz, hikoya shu gapdan o'qiladi.

On the ninth of May, an old veteran, Mr. Karimov, visits the school. He is ninety-two years old and walks slowly with a stick. The students prepare a ceremony with great expectation. Aziz wants to thank him publicly, but he feels some hesitation, because the hall is full. "Do not be afraid," whispers Dilya. "Just speak from the heart."

When the veteran enters, his face softens with a warm smile. His voice is faint, so the students sit close. Sam, who often likes to tease his friends, stays serious this time. Mr. Karimov talks about unity: in hard years, people from many nations worked side by side and shared their bread. "It was a stroke of luck that we had good neighbors," he says. His stories tickle the children's imagination and sometimes make them laugh.

Finally, Aziz stands and expresses the gratitude of the whole school. The old man is moved. "A kind word is the best cure for a tired heart," he says. Anvar is frustrated because his camera battery died, but he writes everything in his notebook. Sam wants to make a joke, but he decides not to wreck the moment. The students give the veteran an impressive card with greetings in four languages.

O'zbekcha tarjimasi

To'qqizinchi may kuni keksa faxriy Mr. Karimov maktabga tashrif buyuradi. U to'qson ikki yoshda va tayoq bilan sekin yuradi. O'quvchilar katta intiqlik bilan marosimga tayyorlanadi. Aziz unga oshkora minnatdorchilik bildirmoqchi, lekin zal to'la bo'lgani uchun ikkilanadi. «Qo'rqma», deb pichirlaydi Dilya. «Yurakdan gapir».

Faxriy kirganda yuzi iliq tabassumdan yumshaydi. Ovozi zaif, shuning uchun o'quvchilar yaqin o'tiradi. Do'stlarini tez-tez masxara qilishni yaxshi ko'radigan Sem bu safar jiddiy turadi. Mr. Karimov birlik haqida gapiradi: og'ir yillarda ko'p millatlarning vakillari yonma-yon ishlagan va nonni baham ko'rgan. «Yaxshi qo'shnilarimiz bo'lgani bizning omadimiz edi», deydi u. Uning hikoyalari bolalar xayolini qitiqlaydi va ba'zan ularni kuldiradi.

Nihoyat Aziz o'rnidan turib, butun maktab nomidan minnatdorchilik bildiradi. Chol ta'sirlanadi. «Mehribon so'z — charchagan yurak uchun eng yaxshi davo», deydi u. Anvarning kamera batareyasi tugagani uchun ruhi tushadi, lekin u hammasini daftariga yozib oladi. Sem hazil qilmoqchi bo'ladi, ammo o'sha lahzani buzmaslikka qaror qiladi. O'quvchilar faxriyga to'rt tilda tilaklar yozilgan ta'sirchan kartochka sovg'a qiladi.
