Hikoya: The Old Bazaar

Unit so'zlari matnda ajratib ko'rsatilgan. Gapni bossangiz, hikoya shu gapdan o'qiladi.

On Sunday, the club visits the old bazaar to find objects for the school's history corner. Mr. Brown strongly advises them to stay polite and calm. "A good bargain starts with a smile," he says. Dilya looks for beautiful fabric to cover a table, and Aziz wants an old brass lamp. The prices are moderate, but Sam always wants to pay even less.

At a corner stall, Sam finds a dusty trophy from a school football match of 1985. The seller names a high price, and Sam sighs. The moment becomes tense, because neither of them wants to move. Anvar, who stays neutral, buys a pair of rubber boots from the next stall and watches with interest. At last, the seller smiles. "If you polish it, it will look like new," he says, and he lowers the price.

Back at school, the friends carry their treasures up the narrow staircase to the attic. A heavy box hinders Sam on the way, and everybody laughs. They revive an old table with a coat of white paint and place the trophy on it. After the work, they eat bread and plov with a great appetite. "Old things give us a new perspective on the past," says Mr. Brown.
