Hikoya: The App Contest

Unit so'zlari matnda ajratib ko'rsatilgan. Gapni bossangiz, hikoya shu gapdan o'qiladi.

In January, the club hears about a national contest for mobile apps. Typically, only university students enter, but the rules do not exclude school teams. Aziz has a concept: an app that teaches English words with games and short stories. "Our topic is education," he says, "and our app fits it perfectly." Mr. Brown offers his assistance, but the friends decide to do most of the work alone.

The work is not easy. Dilya designs the screens, Anvar writes the code, and Sam collects feedback from students at a rural school in the western part of the country. "Intelligence is not enough," Sam jokes. "We also need patience." A company that manufactures phones lends the club two test devices, and Anvar guards them like treasure.

Two weeks later, the friends submit the app. Currently it has two hundred users, and its growth is fast. Dilya reads the report about the development of the project, and everybody feels proud. In March, a letter arrives: the app is in the final ten! The friends shout so loudly that the librarian opens the door. Mr. Brown laughs. "A long road starts with one small step," he says.

O'zbekcha tarjimasi

Yanvar oyida klub mobil ilovalar bo'yicha respublika tanlovi haqida eshitadi. Odatda unda faqat universitet talabalari qatnashadi, lekin qoidalar maktab jamoalarini chiqarib tashlamaydi. Azizda g'oya bor: o'yin va qisqa hikoyalar orqali inglizcha so'zlarni o'rgatadigan ilova. «Bizning mavzu — ta'lim», deydi u, «ilovamiz unga juda mos». Mr. Brown ko'mak taklif qiladi, lekin do'stlar ishning ko'p qismini o'zlari qilishga qaror qiladi.

Ish oson emas. Dilya ekranlarni loyihalaydi, Anvar kod yozadi, Sem esa mamlakatning g'arbiy qismidagi qishloq maktabi o'quvchilaridan fikr-mulohazalar to'playdi. «Zakovatning o'zi yetarli emas», hazillashadi Sem. «Sabr ham kerak». Telefon ishlab chiqaradigan kompaniya klubga ikkita sinov qurilmasini qarzga beradi, Anvar esa ularni xazinadek asraydi.

Ikki haftadan keyin do'stlar ilovani topshiradi. Hozirda uning ikki yuzta foydalanuvchisi bor va o'sishi tez. Dilya loyiha rivojlanishi haqidagi hisobotni o'qiydi va hamma g'ururlanadi. Martda xat keladi: ilova yakuniy o'nlikda! Do'stlar shunchalik baland qichqiradiki, kutubxonachi eshikni ochadi. Mr. Brown kuladi. «Uzoq yo'l bitta kichik qadamdan boshlanadi», deydi u.
