Hikoya: The Fruit Farm

Unit so'zlari matnda ajratib ko'rsatilgan. Gapni bossangiz, hikoya shu gapdan o'qiladi.

In September, the club visits a fruit farm outside the city. The farmer, Mr. Ergash, explains that fruit is beneficial for health because it contains many vitamins. "Our crop this year is extraordinary," he says proudly, "although it rained heavily in spring." For the convenience of visitors, the farm has benches and a small shop. From the orchard, they can see the roof of an old temple on a hill.

Mr. Ergash tells them how the farm has evolved. Fifty years ago, workers carried every basket by hand. Now machines do the heavy work, but the expense is high, so he plans carefully. While they walk, Anvar and the farmer have a long dialogue about new technology, and Sam eats an excessive number of apples. Soon he has a stomachache.

At dusk, Sam sees a white figure between the trees. "A ghost!" he shouts, and somehow he ends up in Aziz's arms, embracing him tightly. The ghost is only a scarecrow in a white coat. Nobody is injured, except Sam's pride. Mr. Ergash laughs and gives him a basket of apples. "Take these," he says, "but only two a day."

O'zbekcha tarjimasi

Sentyabr oyida klub shahar tashqarisidagi meva fermasiga boradi. Fermer Mr. Ergash mevalar vitaminlarga boy bo'lgani uchun salomatlikka foydali ekanini tushuntiradi. «Bu yilgi hosilimiz favqulodda», deydi u g'urur bilan, «garchi bahorda qattiq yomg'ir yog'gan bo'lsa-da». Mehmonlar qulayligi uchun ferma o'rindiqlar va kichik do'konga ega. Bog'dan tepalikdagi eski ma'badning tomi ko'rinadi.

Mr. Ergash ferma yillar davomida qanday rivojlanganini aytib beradi. Ellik yil oldin ishchilar har bir savatni qo'lda ko'targan. Hozir og'ir ishni mashinalar qiladi, lekin xarajat katta, shuning uchun u ehtiyotkorlik bilan rejalashtiradi. Ular sayr qilayotganda Anvar fermer bilan yangi texnologiya haqida uzoq suhbatlashadi, Sem esa haddan tashqari ko'p olma yeydi. Tez orada uning qorni og'riy boshlaydi.

Qorong'i tushganda Sem daraxtlar orasida oq shaklni ko'radi. «Arvoh!» deb qichqiradi u va qandaydir tarzda Azizning quchog'ida qolib, uni mahkam quchoqlaydi. «Arvoh» oq palto kiygan bog' qo'rqitgichidan boshqa narsa emas ekan. Hech kim jarohat olmaydi, faqat Semning g'ururiga ozgina zarar yetadi. Mr. Ergash kuladi va unga bir savat olma beradi. «Mana buni ol», deydi u, «lekin kuniga faqat ikkitadan».
