Hikoya: The Honey Festival

Unit so'zlari matnda ajratib ko'rsatilgan. Gapni bossangiz, hikoya shu gapdan o'qiladi.

The club visits a village honey festival. A retired soldier called Mr. Tursun keeps two hundred bee hives. He greets the visitors at the gate and gives a short, humorous speech. "My bees are very enthusiastic workers," he says. "They never ask for a holiday." Initially, Sam is afraid and hides behind Aziz, but the old man laughs and gives him a hat with a net.

Mr. Tursun explains how people consume honey in different ways. He wants to emphasize one rule: honey is not for babies. A long queue waits at the tasting table. Sam is impatient, so he jumps the queue. A stranger gives him a hard look, and Sam feels shame. He returns to the end of the line. Aziz admires the special mixture of honey and nuts, and he buys a small box.

At the end of the day, there is a small ceremony in the garden. Mr. Tursun gives every child a tiny jar of honey. Sam holds his jar with both hands, as if it is made of gold. He does not open it until he gets home. "This is the sweetest day of my life," he tells his mother.

O'zbekcha tarjimasi

Klub qishloqdagi asal bayramiga boradi. Nafaqadagi askar Tursun aka ikki yuzta asalari uyasini boqadi. U mehmonlarni darvoza oldida kutib oladi va qisqa, hazilomuz nutq so'zlaydi. «Mening asalarilarim juda ishtiyoqmand ishchilar», deydi u. «Ular hech qachon ta'til so'ramaydi». Dastlab Sem qo'rqib Azizning orqasiga yashirinadi, lekin chol kulib, unga to'rli shlyapa beradi.

Tursun aka odamlar asalni turli yo'llar bilan iste'mol qilishini tushuntiradi. U bitta qoidani alohida ta'kidlamoqchi: asal chaqaloqlarga berilmaydi. Tatib ko'rish stoli oldida uzun navbat turibdi. Sem sabrsiz, shuning uchun navbatni buzadi. Begona bir odam unga qattiq qaraydi va Sem uyaladi. U navbatning oxiriga qaytadi. Aziz asal va yong'oqdan iborat maxsus aralashmaga qoyil qoladi va kichik quti sotib oladi.

Kun oxirida bog'da kichik marosim bo'ladi. Tursun aka har bir bolaga kichkina asal idishi beradi. Sem idishini ikki qo'li bilan ushlaydi, go'yo u oltindan yasalgandek. U uyga yetmaguncha uni ochmaydi. «Bu hayotimdagi eng shirin kun», deydi u onasiga.
