Hikoya: The Time Capsule

Unit so'zlari matnda ajratib ko'rsatilgan. Gapni bossangiz, hikoya shu gapdan o'qiladi.

The school has its hundredth birthday, and the club prepares a time capsule for this special occasion. Everybody puts in something small. Dilya adds letters from pen friends on every continent. Anvar puts in his best chess piece, the only thing he possesses from his grandfather. Aziz writes a long letter to himself. "Open it in twenty years," he says.

Sam, however, has a careless attitude. He puts in an old sock and an unnecessary pile of paper. Dilya says nothing, but she is deeply disappointed. Later, Sam feels ashamed. "I regret it," he says. "I will analyse what is important in my life and write one proper letter." He writes about the club, and when he finishes, he is full of emotion.

On Sunday, they bury the capsule near the fence behind the school. They dig a deep hole, and the box goes in. Gradually, the soil covers it. When the last stone is in place, Mr. Brown says, "In twenty years, you will emerge here again, but as different people." Aziz plants a small tree above the capsule as a sign.

O'zbekcha tarjimasi

Maktab yuz yoshga to'ladi va klub bu maxsus tadbir uchun vaqt kapsulasini tayyorlaydi. Hamma ichiga kichik narsa soladi. Dilya har bir qit'adagi xat do'stlaridan kelgan xatlarni qo'shadi. Anvar eng yaxshi shaxmat donasini soladi — bu uning bobosidan qolgan yagona narsasi. Aziz o'ziga uzun xat yozadi. «Uni yigirma yildan keyin oching», deydi u.

Biroq Semning munosabati beparvo. U eski paypoq va keraksiz qog'ozlar to'plamini soladi. Dilya hech narsa demaydi, lekin chuqur xafa bo'ladi. Keyinroq Sem uyaladi. «Pushaymonman», deydi u. «Hayotimda nima muhimligini tahlil qilaman va bitta to'g'ri xat yozaman». U klub haqida yozadi va tugatganda his-tuyg'uga to'lib ketadi.

Yakshanba kuni ular kapsulani maktab orqasidagi to'siq yonida ko'madi. Chuqur o'ra qazishadi va quti ichiga tushadi. Asta-sekin tuproq uni yopadi. Oxirgi tosh joyiga qo'yilganda Mr. Brown aytadi: «Yigirma yildan keyin sizlar bu yerda yana paydo bo'lasizlar, lekin boshqa odamlar bo'lib». Aziz belgi sifatida kapsula ustiga kichik daraxt ekadi.
