Hikoya: Grandfather's Paintings

Unit so'zlari matnda ajratib ko'rsatilgan. Gapni bossangiz, hikoya shu gapdan o'qiladi.

Aziz's grandfather has an exhibition of his paintings in the town gallery. The pictures show his childhood in a small village by the river. Obviously, the old man is very proud. He loves a simple lifestyle, and he paints every morning when the sun begins to shine through his window. "Come and see," he says to the club. "I have something incredible for you."

The most famous painting shows a small boat that begins to sink in a storm. "This is a scene from my life," says the grandfather. "Elsewhere, I never told this story, and I never wrote it down. Today I will give it to you in spoken words. The river was my enemy that day." Dilya listens with her mouth open. "Is it true?" asks Sam. "Or is it a lie?" The old man smiles. "A good story is sometimes a little of both."

After a minute, he decides to reveal the truth. The boat did not sink at all. The real episode from his childhood was smaller and funnier: he lost a loose tooth in the water, and he cried for an hour. A woman at the door makes a complaint about the noise, but nobody listens to her. The whole gallery is laughing.

O'zbekcha tarjimasi

Azizning bobosi shahar galereyasida o'z rasmlari ko'rgazmasini o'tkazmoqda. Suratlarda uning daryo bo'yidagi kichik qishloqdagi bolaligi aks etgan. Ravshanki, keksa odam juda faxrlanadi. U oddiy turmush tarzini yaxshi ko'radi va har tong quyosh derazasidan porlay boshlaganda rasm chizadi. «Kelinglar, ko'ringlar», deydi u klubga. «Sizlar uchun aql bovar qilmas bir narsam bor».

Eng mashhur rasmda bo'ronda cho'ka boshlagan kichik qayiq tasvirlangan. «Bu hayotimdan bir lavha», deydi bobo. «Boshqa joyda bu hikoyani hech aytmaganman va yozib ham qo'ymaganman. Bugun uni sizlarga og'zaki aytib beraman. O'sha kuni daryo mening dushmanim edi». Dilya og'zini ochib tinglaydi. «Bu rostmi?» deb so'raydi Sem. «Yoki yolg'onmi?» Keksa odam jilmayadi. «Yaxshi hikoya ba'zan ikkalasidan ozgina bo'ladi».

Bir daqiqadan keyin u haqiqatni oshkor qilishga qaror qiladi. Qayiq umuman cho'kmagan. Bolaligidagi haqiqiy voqea kichikroq va kulguliroq edi: u suvda qimirlab turgan tishini yo'qotdi va bir soat yig'ladi. Eshik oldidagi bir ayol shovqindan shikoyat qiladi, lekin hech kim uni eshitmaydi. Butun galereya kulmoqda.
