Hikoya: Kesha the Parrot

Unit so'zlari matnda ajratib ko'rsatilgan. Gapni bossangiz, hikoya shu gapdan o'qiladi.

Aziz's uncle goes on a long business trip and asks him to look after his pet parrot, Kesha. "It is a big challenge," says Aziz, "but I will try." The parrot is clever and knows a large quantity of expressions, many of them very formal. "Good morning, ladies and gentlemen!" it says every day at six o'clock.

One evening, the old cage door is broken, and Kesha flies away through the window. Aziz is in a panic. "My uncle will claim that I lost his best friend!" he says. Despite the rain, the friends search the whole street. Sam wants to replace the cage with a bigger one, but Aziz cannot afford it.

At last, Dilya hears a formal voice from a tree: "Good morning, ladies and gentlemen!" It is Kesha, with a wet tail and a proud look. To confirm it, Dilya shows a cracker, and the parrot jumps onto her hand. The friends announce the good news to the uncle by phone. "A good spirit is essential in a crisis," he says, laughing. "And a good relationship with a parrot is even more essential!"

O'zbekcha tarjimasi

Azizning amakisi uzoq xizmat safariga ketadi va undan uy hayvoni — to'tiqush Keshaga qarab turishni so'raydi. «Bu katta sinov», deydi Aziz, «lekin harakat qilaman». To'tiqush aqlli va ko'p miqdordagi iboralarni biladi, ularning ko'pi juda rasmiy. «Xayrli tong, xonimlar va janoblar!» deydi u har kuni soat oltida.

Bir kuni kechqurun eski qafas eshigi buzilib, Kesha deraza orqali uchib ketadi. Aziz vahimaga tushadi. «Amakim men uning eng yaqin do'stini yo'qotdim, deb da'vo qiladi!» deydi u. Yomg'irga qaramay, do'stlar butun ko'chani qidiradi. Sem qafasni kattaroqqa almashtirmoqchi, lekin Azizning bunga puli yetmaydi.

Nihoyat Dilya daraxtdan rasmiy ovozni eshitadi: «Xayrli tong, xonimlar va janoblar!» Bu Kesha, dumi ho'l, qiyofasi esa mag'rur. Tasdiqlash uchun Dilya kreker ko'rsatadi va to'tiqush uning qo'liga sakraydi. Do'stlar amakiga telefonda xushxabarni e'lon qiladi. «Inqirozda yaxshi ruh juda zarur», deydi u kulib. «To'tiqush bilan yaxshi munosabat esa undan ham zarur!»
