Hikoya: A Day at the Café

Unit so'zlari matnda ajratib ko'rsatilgan. Gapni bossangiz, hikoya shu gapdan o'qiladi.

Aziz works for one day in Dilya's uncle's café. "It is not necessary to be fast," says the uncle, "but it is necessary to smile." The first customers arrive at eight. At first, the day is normal and a little boring: tea, bread, tea, bread. Then a man in a dark coat enters. "Guess who it is!" whispers Dilya. "He looks like the president!"

Aziz brings soup to the man. The noise from the street is loud, and Aziz is nervous. Then there is an accident: the soup falls on the table! Everyone in the café stops. "I am so sorry!" says Aziz. The man laughs. "Do not worry," he says. "I am only a teacher who looks like the president."

He leaves a big tip and says, "Can you describe this café in one sentence for an article? I write for a newspaper." Aziz thinks. "It is a place where the soup begins to fly," he says. On Sunday, the article comes out, and the café is full of people. The uncle calls it a success. "Aziz," he says, "please come again, but this time, no soup!"

O'zbekcha tarjimasi

Aziz bir kunga Dilyaning tog'asining kafesida ishlaydi. «Tez bo'lish shart emas, — deydi tog'a, — lekin jilmayish shart». Birinchi mijozlar soat sakkizda keladi. Avvaliga kun oddiy va ozgina zerikarli: choy, non, choy, non. Keyin qora paltoli bir erkak kiradi. «Kim ekanini top!» deb pichirlaydi Dilya. «U prezidentga o'xshaydi!»

Aziz erkakka sho'rva olib keladi. Ko'chadan shovqin baland, Aziz esa hayajonda. Keyin baxtsiz hodisa yuz beradi: sho'rva stolga to'kiladi! Kafedagi hamma to'xtaydi. «Juda uzr!» deydi Aziz. Erkak kuladi. «Xavotir olmang, — deydi u. — Men shunchaki prezidentga o'xshaydigan o'qituvchiman».

U katta choy puli qoldiradi va aytadi: «Bu kafeni maqola uchun bitta gap bilan tasvirlay olasizmi? Men gazetaga yozaman». Aziz o'ylanadi. «Bu sho'rva uchishni boshlaydigan joy», deydi u. Yakshanba kuni maqola chiqadi va kafe odamlarga to'ladi. Tog'a buni muvaffaqiyat deb ataydi. «Aziz, — deydi u, — yana keling, lekin bu safar sho'rvasiz!»
