Hikoya: The School Newspaper

Unit so'zlari matnda ajratib ko'rsatilgan. Gapni bossangiz, hikoya shu gapdan o'qiladi.

Dilya has a crazy idea: a newspaper for the school. "What is the reason?" asks Sam. "Nobody reads anything about our lessons," she says. "What else can we do? Please promise to help me." Aziz and Sam promise. Aziz suggests a title, "The Daily Pencil", and everyone likes it.

At first, the work is awful. Sam writes a story, but it is full of mistakes. "Is it possible to fix all this?" he asks. Dilya shows him some technology: they type everything on a laptop, and a program checks the words. "We must not fail," she says. "The date on the front page is Friday."

On Friday, they print fifty newspapers. Aziz draws the school director on the front page, with a pair of big glasses and a tiny hat. The sound of laughter goes down the corridor. The director reads the newspaper, and for a moment he is silent. Then he laughs too. "Very good," he says. "But my glasses are not so big."

O'zbekcha tarjimasi

Dilyaning telba fikri bor: maktab uchun gazeta chiqarish. «Sababi nima?» deb so'raydi Sem. «Hech kim bizning darslarimiz haqida hech narsa o'qimaydi», deydi u. «Yana nima qila olamiz? Iltimos, menga yordam berishga va'da bering». Aziz bilan Sem va'da beradi. Aziz sarlavha taklif qiladi: «Kundalik qalam», va hammaga yoqadi.

Avvaliga ish dahshatli. Sem hikoya yozadi, lekin u xatolarga to'la. «Bularning hammasini tuzatish mumkinmi?» deb so'raydi u. Dilya unga texnologiyani ko'rsatadi: ular hamma narsani noutbukda yozadi, dastur esa so'zlarni tekshiradi. «Muvaffaqiyatsizlikka uchramasligimiz kerak», deydi u. «Birinchi sahifadagi sana — juma».

Juma kuni ular ellik dona gazeta chop etadi. Aziz birinchi sahifaga maktab direktorini chizadi: katta ko'zoynak taqqan, boshida kichkina shlyapa. Yo'lakda kulgi ovozi yangraydi. Direktor gazetani o'qiydi va bir lahza jim qoladi. Keyin u ham kuladi. «Juda yaxshi», deydi u. «Lekin mening ko'zoynagim bunchalik katta emas».
