Hikoya: The Garden in Summer

Unit so'zlari matnda ajratib ko'rsatilgan. Gapni bossangiz, hikoya shu gapdan o'qiladi.

In the school garden, the summer drought changes everything. The soil is dry and stiff, and the plants look weak. The club undertakes a plan to save the garden: Aziz brings buckets, and Anvar dips a cup into the pond again and again to carry water. Dilya finds a worm under a stone, and she classifies it in her notebook as a friend of the garden.

Sam makes a remark that gardening is a job for girls. Dilya answers that this is an old stereotype, and Sam cannot justify his words, so he apologizes and picks up a bucket. Mr. Brown says that learning from nature is a privilege, and he gives one criterion for a good project: it must help other people.

A week later, the rain finally comes, and the garden changes dramatically: the leaves become green again. Dilya says that losing the garden would have been a tragedy. The end of the school year is inevitable, but the occasional summer shower reminds the friends that every ending has a new beginning. "Our club will meet again in September," says Mr. Brown.

O'zbekcha tarjimasi

Maktab bog'ida yozgi qurg'oqchilik hamma narsani o'zgartirib yuboradi. Tuproq quruq va qotib qolgan, o'simliklar esa bo'sh ko'rinadi. Klub bog'ni qutqarish rejasini zimmasiga oladi: Aziz chelaklar keltiradi, Anvar esa suv tashish uchun hovuzga idishni qayta-qayta botiradi. Dilya tosh tagidan chuvalchang topadi va uni daftarida bog'ning do'sti deb tasniflaydi.

Sem bog'bonlik qizlarning ishi, degan izoh bildiradi. Dilya bu eski qolip tasavvur ekanini aytadi, Sem esa so'zlarini oqlay olmaydi, shuning uchun uzr so'rab, chelakni qo'liga oladi. Mr. Brown tabiatdan o'rganish imtiyoz ekanini aytadi va yaxshi loyiha uchun bitta mezon beradi: u boshqalarga yordam berishi kerak.

Bir haftadan keyin nihoyat yomg'ir yog'adi va bog' keskin o'zgaradi: barglar yana yashil tusga kiradi. Dilya bog'ni yo'qotish fojia bo'lishini aytadi. O'quv yilining tugashi muqarrar, lekin ba'zan yog'adigan yozgi jala do'stlarga har bir yakunning yangi boshlanishi borligini eslatadi. «Klubimiz sentabrda yana yig'iladi», deydi Mr. Brown.
