Hikoya: The Visiting Dog

Unit so'zlari matnda ajratib ko'rsatilgan. Gapni bossangiz, hikoya shu gapdan o'qiladi.

Today a special guest comes to school: Bobby, a therapy dog. Bobby is a mature dog of seven years, calm and kind. His owner, Mrs. Halima, works for a hospital, and her employer allows her to bring Bobby to schools. The Minister of Education also visits, because the pilot program is in its first phase. "Last year's first try was a failure," the minister says, "because the dog was too nervous." Now everything looks much better.

Sam, who loves dogs, asserts that Bobby understands English. Bobby answers with a quick lick on his hand. Then the dog finds Anvar's new shoe and begins to chew it. Anvar scolds him gently. "Bobby seldom does this," says Mrs. Halima. "He is calm because of consistent training." Dilya brings water in a steel bowl, and the dog drinks happily.

Overall, the students are calmer than usual that day. The minister says that a comprehensive study will test the program in ten schools. Aziz writes a short report for the school newspaper, and Sam promises to bring Bobby a new toy. "Next time, keep your shoes safe," laughs Anvar.

O'zbekcha tarjimasi

Bugun maktabga maxsus mehmon keladi: terapevt it Bobbi. Bobbi voyaga yetgan, yetti yoshli, tinch va mehribon it. Uning egasi Mrs. Halima kasalxonada ishlaydi va ish beruvchisi unga Bobbini maktablarga olib borishga ruxsat beradi. Ta'lim vaziri ham tashrif buyuradi, chunki sinov dasturi birinchi bosqichda. «O'tgan yilgi birinchi urinish muvaffaqiyatsiz bo'ldi», deydi vazir, «chunki it juda asabiy edi». Hozir esa hammasi ancha yaxshi ko'rinadi.

Itlarni yaxshi ko'radigan Sem Bobbi inglizchani tushunadi, deb ta'kidlaydi. Bobbi javoban uning qo'lini tez yalab qo'yadi. Keyin it Anvarning yangi poyabzalini topib, uni chaynay boshlaydi. Anvar uni muloyimlik bilan koyiydi. «Bobbi bunday qilishi kamdan-kam bo'ladi», deydi Mrs. Halima. «U izchil mashq tufayli tinch». Dilya po'lat idishda suv olib keladi va it mamnun ichadi.

Umuman olganda, o'sha kuni o'quvchilar odatdagidan tinchroq. Vazir dasturni o'nta maktabda sinash uchun har tomonlama o'rganish o'tkazilishini aytadi. Aziz maktab gazetasi uchun qisqa hisobot yozadi, Sem esa Bobbiga yangi o'yinchoq olib kelishga va'da beradi. «Keyingi safar poyabzalingizni saqlab qo'ying», deb kuladi Anvar.
