Hikoya: The Climbing Wall

Unit so'zlari matnda ajratib ko'rsatilgan. Gapni bossangiz, hikoya shu gapdan o'qiladi.

On Sunday, an instructor named Mr. Bakhtiyor takes the club to a rock-climbing centre in the mountains. He starts with a recommendation: always wear a helmet. "The first principle of climbing is safety," he says. Dilya is pleased with the clear rules, but Sam looks up at the wall with horror. "Hopefully the weather will stay dry," he whispers.

Mr. Bakhtiyor shows a simple technique for using the feet. Aziz goes first, and he climbs well. Anvar is next, but he slips, and the instructor quickly diagnoses the problem: his shoes are too big. Sam creeps up the wall like a snail and tries to conceal his fear with jokes. "Only a mad person does this for fun," he says.

At the top, the landscape is wonderful: green hills, a silver river, and a small village far away. Frequent clouds usually hide the view, but today the sky is clear. The instructor tells an old legend about a shepherd who lived on the mountain. Then the friends applaud Sam, who has finally reached the top, and he bows like a king.

O'zbekcha tarjimasi

Yakshanba kuni instruktor Mr. Baxtiyor klubni tog'dagi qoyaga chiqish markaziga olib boradi. U tavsiyadan boshlaydi: doim dubulg'a kiying. «Tog'ga chiqishning birinchi tamoyili — xavfsizlik», deydi u. Dilya aniq qoidalardan mamnun, Sem esa devorga dahshat bilan qaraydi. «Umid qilamanki, havo quruq bo'ladi», deb pichirlaydi u.

Mr. Baxtiyor oyoqlardan foydalanishning oddiy usulini ko'rsatadi. Aziz birinchi bo'lib chiqadi va yaxshi chiqadi. Keyingi navbat Anvarniki, lekin u sirpanib ketadi va instruktor muammoni tez tashxis qiladi: poyabzali juda katta. Sem devorga salyangozdek sudralib chiqadi va qo'rquvini hazillar bilan yashirmoqchi bo'ladi. «Buni o'yin uchun faqat jinni odam qiladi», deydi u.

Tepada manzara ajoyib: yashil tepaliklar, kumush daryo va uzoqda kichik qishloq. Tez-tez bo'ladigan bulutlar odatda manzarani yashiradi, lekin bugun osmon ochiq. Instruktor tog'da yashagan cho'pon haqidagi eski afsonani aytib beradi. Keyin do'stlar nihoyat tepaga yetgan Semga qarsak chaladi, u esa shohdek ta'zim qiladi.
