Hikoya: Book Three Is Complete

Unit so'zlari matnda ajratib ko'rsatilgan. Gapni bossangiz, hikoya shu gapdan o'qiladi.

In April, a small earthquake shakes a village near the city. Nobody is hurt, but many old houses have cracks. The club decides to help. Mr. Brown tells them to recycle old clothes and blankets from the school, and the students bring bags full of warm things. A wealthy businessman offers a truck to carry everything. "It is an honour to help," he says.

The weather is bad. It rains all day, and the road to the village is full of mud. The truck goes slowly, sometimes backwards, and the friends push it. It is an unpleasant job, but nobody complains. At night, it is cold enough to freeze water, and the families gather around a campfire. The flame warms their hands. Even Sam adapts and stops shaking.

On the last day of Book Three, Mr. Brown asks everyone to write an essay about a hero. Sam chooses the truck driver. "The disadvantage of being a hero," he writes, "is that you always get dirty." Dilya's essay is long and neat. Aziz wants to convince the readers that the real heroes are the villagers, who never complained. Anvar writes only one line: "My heroes are my friends." Mr. Brown reads it twice and closes the book with a smile. "Book Three is complete," he says. "You are ready for the next step."

O'zbekcha tarjimasi

Aprel oyida shahar yaqinidagi qishloqni kichik zilzila silkitadi. Hech kim jarohat olmagan, lekin ko'p eski uylarda yoriqlar paydo bo'lgan. Klub yordam berishga qaror qiladi. Mr. Brown ularga maktabdagi eski kiyim va ko'rpalarni qayta ishlatishni aytadi, o'quvchilar esa issiq narsalarga to'la xaltalar olib keladi. Boy tadbirkor hamma narsani tashish uchun yuk mashinasi taklif qiladi. «Yordam berish men uchun sharaf», deydi u.

Ob-havo yomon. Kun bo'yi yomg'ir yog'adi va qishloqqa boradigan yo'l loyga to'la. Yuk mashinasi sekin yuradi, ba'zan orqaga ketadi va do'stlar uni itaradi. Bu yoqimsiz ish, lekin hech kim shikoyat qilmaydi. Kechasi suv muzlaydigan darajada sovuq va oilalar gulxan atrofiga yig'iladi. Alanga ularning qo'llarini isitadi. Hatto Sem ham moslashib, titrashni to'xtatadi.

Uchinchi kitobning oxirgi kuni Mr. Brown hammadan qahramon haqida insho yozishni so'raydi. Sem yuk mashinasi haydovchisini tanlaydi. «Qahramon bo'lishning kamchiligi», deb yozadi u, «doim iflos bo'lishingda». Dilyaning inshosi uzun va ozoda. Aziz o'quvchilarni haqiqiy qahramonlar hech qachon shikoyat qilmagan qishloq aholisi ekaniga ishontirmoqchi. Anvar faqat bitta jumla yozadi: «Mening qahramonlarim — do'stlarim». Mr. Brown uni ikki marta o'qib, kitobni jilmayib yopadi. «Uchinchi kitob tugadi», deydi u. «Siz keyingi qadamga tayyorsiz».
