Hikoya: The Lost Passport

Unit so'zlari matnda ajratib ko'rsatilgan. Gapni bossangiz, hikoya shu gapdan o'qiladi.

After the rain, Sam and Aziz walk through the market, wet from head to foot. Sam bends to pick up a coin and finds a passport next to it. "It belongs to a tourist, Mr. Johnson," says Aziz. "By law, he must carry it all the time." Nobody around knows him.

At last, they see a man with a red neck in front of a bakery. He sits on a motorcycle and looks upset, because he searches all his pockets. "Are you Mr. Johnson?" asks Sam. "Yes!" says the man. English is his native language, and he says "Thank you!" three times.

To say thank you, Mr. Johnson buys the friends hot bread that the baker bakes with black pepper. He also gives Sam a magazine about motorcycles. "I found a coin and a passport," says Sam, "and now I have bread and a magazine. Maybe I should walk in the rain more often!"

O'zbekcha tarjimasi

Yomg'irdan keyin Sem bilan Aziz bozor bo'ylab yuradi, ikkalasi ham boshdan oyoq ho'l. Sem tanga olish uchun egiladi va uning yonidan pasport topadi. «Bu sayyoh Mr. Johnsonga tegishli, — deydi Aziz. — Qonunga ko'ra, u uni doim o'zi bilan olib yurishi kerak». Atrofda hech kim uni tanimaydi.

Nihoyat ular novvoyxona oldida bo'yni qizargan bir odamni ko'radi. U mototsiklda o'tiribdi va xafa ko'rinadi, chunki hamma cho'ntaklarini qidirmoqda. «Siz Mr. Johnsonmisiz?» deb so'raydi Sem. «Ha!» deydi odam. Uning ona tili ingliz tili va u uch marta «Rahmat!» deydi.

Minnatdorchilik bildirish uchun Mr. Johnson do'stlarga novvoy qora qalampir qo'shib pishirgan issiq non sotib oladi. U Semga mototsikllar haqida jurnal ham sovg'a qiladi. «Men tanga va pasport topdim, — deydi Sem, — endi esa nonim ham, jurnalim ham bor. Balki yomg'irda ko'proq yurishim kerak!»
